How Can I Save Bookmarks After I Shutdown My Computer?

I can't save a specific place in a video clip after I shutdown my computer by bookmarking it. Bookmarking does work as long as I don't shutdown my computer. But, I want to bookmark my video clip one day so I can go back to the same spot another day. How can I enable this so that I can return to the same spot in the clip after shutting down my computer?

It seems that the Bookmarks for DVDs is not implemented yet. Read the posts from VLC support regarding Bookmarks. I am in the exact same bind. So, until it's implemented and working properly, I just use the old fashioned way and make a note of the time somewhere. It's not very accurate but gets me close enough.

ineuw, I don't want to bookmark my DVD. I have MP4 movies that I want to bookmark. If you or someone else knows how to bookmark MP4 movies after shutting down the computer, I'd appreciate a response.

I was watching .VOB files temporarily copied to the disk drive, and I also tried .mp3 and neither could be bookmarked permanently. So, I wrote down the elapsed and remaining times and tried manually to return to the exact position, and that's inaccurate and frustrating option.

.... I found this by searching Save Bookmarks".
VLC_help wrote: Position save is little problematic, because you cannot seek all files/streams (so you cannot return to same position) which would make the feature inconsistent among different streams/files.
In another post it's mentioned that the database for Bookmarks is not implemented yet.

Good luck
