Editing Video

Postby Baalslayer » 12 Sep 2009 15:35

I was asking about editing some .flv videos and someone suggested I download and use Avidemux 2.5. Thanks for that suggestion. It seems a relatively user friendly program. I was able to figure out how to upload a video, select the FLV formatt. It is automatically set for Video and Audio Copy. I clicked the play button and the video started and when I got to the part I wanted to remove I clicked Stop and then clicked the A button and clicked Play again, and did the same thing when I got to the end of the portion of the video I wanted to cut out, clicking on Stop and then clicking B. I then clicked play and it continued on to the end of the video. I could see a blue lined box took up the space where to part I wanted to edit out was. Then I went up to Edit and clicked Delete and it disappeared. So, I played the video again and waalah!!!! the portion I wanted to edit out was gone and I was very impressed wtih myself. Then the PROBLEM started. I cannot figure out how to Save the change to the video. I go to File, click Save, select Save Video and the standard Windows XP Select File To Save window appears with All Files {*.*} being the only selection in the Save As Type box. Every attempt to save the edited flv. video gave me an error message that it was saved incorrectly and had failed. Can you tell me how to save an edited FLV video to Desktop or My Documents so I can view it without having to use the Avidemux program? Thank you much for any help. I went to the website that tells you how to save an edited video using Avidemux but when I followed the simple instructions it seems that they were not given for Windows XP. Please help. Baalslayer

Never mind, I re read the instruction on the website and tried it a couple more times and figured it out. A great little tool!!! I think they assume you know something about what you are doing, which I do not, but with a few more tries, and remembering what I did each time I got it. Thanks very much for directing my attention to it. Works like a charm!!! Baalslayer

This isn't AVIdemux forum.
