VLC Videos Jagged Edges

I dont know , for MKV to play in ps3 i installed many converting software which required different codecs , so installed various codec packs . Now my VLC shows jagged edges
Here is VLC screenshot .. as you can see the letter itself is jagged and also the picture behind
Oh i forgot to mention , i have tried reinstalling VLC many times ( Version 1.0.1)
here is my K-Lite ( media Player Classic ) , it has smooth edge
Also now when i try to play a a avi or some other format , i get a
COM Surgate issue ( sometimes only ) but i can play the video..
May not be VLC related but is this anything to do with Quicktime installation and removal ? also why is when i view videos ( thumbnails ) there is Haali splitter running ( too many ) and there is a COM surgate (dllhost.exe) in the task manager
Is there a way to completely remove all codecs and put in fresh codecs ?

This isn't a K-Lite support forum. For VLC video quality issues, try different video output module.

i think you got it wrong.
I have both K-Lite and VLC. Off lately VLC is showing jagged edges .
as i said before , a reinstall has not solved the issue
also when play a video with " Output " > DirectX , the video seems to be normal , what could be the problem ?

please help me. I cant see any movies. all are horrible on full screen Oh i forgot to tell. If the VLC is half sized , i mean not in full screen mode , the videos are normal ,, no jagged edges
if i use openGL there is no aero disabling but cursor disappears and no seek bar

I am experiencing this as well. When I watch an HD mkv file with VLC I see jaggies as if it isn't AA but when I take a snapshot with vlc the picture is perfectly smooth. If I watch my videos with SMPlayer there are no jaggies either.
I have an ATI HD 3850 1Gb card.

Known issue. I will fix this when I get myself Windows 7 box, or JB fixes his box. DirectX video output module should produce OK quality under Windows 7.

thnks a lot. i was very much worried coz VLC is fav player and i was hitting my head of what i did wrong to make it show jagged videos.
anyway i tried few other things here is list
1.) Changed compatibilty to " XP SP3 " + Disable desktop Compostion >> Video are smooth --- aero is disabled
2.) Changed compatibilty to " XP SP3 " >> Again Aero Disables and video is fine ( but slight wobbling is there )
3.) Changed compatibilty to " Vista " >> video again shows jagged edges
4.) Changed compatibilty to " Vista " + Disable Desktop Composition >> Video is jagged
i dont know why this happens. May be you guys know about it. I will leave it to you guys.
Hope this gets fixed soon.
One last question though , I recently installed quicktime ( Crap ) and removed it. i think that the problem arose after that removal only. could that be a issue ? Please help.
Thanks for helping me out thus far VLC_help

Is is display driver related issue. So nothing to do with QuickTime.

I am experiencing the same jagged edges. I'm running Windows 7 and VLC 1.0.2. Looking forward to a fix since this is my favorite player.

I have this problem with a 4870 X2 on a 32" Samsung HDTV, I've tried god damn well everything to make it work, including what has been said in this thread. Using Windows 7 now but the problem has been with me throughout the years (XP/Vista/7), I've tried the TV with another computer which had the same problem but that computer also had an older ATI card. I've tried a 4:3 Samsung LCD monitor on my computer and then the problem did not occur so I drew the conclusion that it must be some kind of conflict between ATI cards and (perhaps only samsung) TV's/widescreen monitors.
Now there's really no point in posting this since somebody said a fix is on the way but I'm just wondering if there's anything else related to the issue i could try out. Here's what I've tried so far:
-Setting compatability mode to everything (also tried "running as administrator" since you had to that in vista in every other program so that something wouldn't --please stay polite-- up)
-Disabling Aero, both in windows and for VLC
-Setting output mode to DirectX (In fact I've tried every output mode in the list)
(Video works fine in WMP so naturally there's nothing wrong with my TV)
