Recording path

hi...
I compiled vlc successfully in windows XP Sp2 under MSys.
Now i am modifying something here.
what i need is to load/access the recorded file from the disk after just finished recording.
And i want the path in which file is to be saved, should be fixed in some way.
I tried to change modules/stream_filter/record.c but nothing happens.
pls let me know the way to change the path.
