iso files

Postby reubenb » 10 Aug 2009 05:45

I have a dvd file in iso format. Using a program called vcdcontroltool I can mount this iso file as a virtual dvd drive. I cannot get vlc to open this. OS is WinXP

I found the solution in another forum. VCDControlTool does the same thing as the programs you recommend. My iso file is mounted and can be accessed. But it can only be played in Version 1.0 by using the OPEN DISK command, a change from the previous version. IMHO rather an arcane and thoroughly non-intuitive approach.

Why do you think calling the command "Open Disc" is arcane or unintuitive? I mean you want to play a disc image which you mounted into a virtual disc drive. So using "Open Disc" to play it is highly reasonable imho.
