starting frame-by-frame & looping issue

I have a short sports video that I would like to view frame-by-frame from the very beginning and keep looping until I close or stop the video.

I put the frame-by-frame icon on the player but each time I double click the video it starts at normal speed, I have to stop it, rewind to the beginning, and then hit the frame-by-frame button, and have not discovered how to loop continuously (it closes when at the end).

Surely this can be done more easily than I've described. Is there anyway I can open this video at the beginning without any motion until I click the frame-by-frame button, and keep looping indefinitely?

Thanks very much.
Dan

There isn't a pause at first frame option on VLC.

If "there isn't a pause at first frame option on VLC" is there a way to see the video at regular speed the first time and then stop so a user could set the speed or frame-by-frame option?

Also, is there a loop indefinitely option? I see there is a set A & set B option but am unsure how/where to set these parameters; nothing happens when I click on them.

Thanks,
Dan

No. You can manually pause the video and set speed or use frame-by-frame but no automation.

Loop A->B doesn't work with all files. There are playlist loop and repeat forever options.
