What do I use to convert a swf into home DVD player format?

Hi All,

I have VLC 1.0.0 for windows, a blank DVD+RW, a home DVD player on top on my television, and a flash video (*.swf). I want to convert this swf into something that my home dvd player will recognize.

questions:

1) under the "advanced open file" dialog, after selecting "Convert", in the settings pull down, which one of those many formats do I choose?

2) on the converted file, what extension do I use?

If it helps, my home dvd player did not recognize H.264 and .mpeg.

Many thanks,
-T

VLC cannot do DVD authoring nor burning. So if you want DVD that will work with your DVD player, you have to use some other tools addition to VLC.
1. http://wiki.videolan.org/How_to_Create_a_DVD
2. Depends on container format you are choosing. So if you select TS, then .ts, if you choose ASF then .asf etc.
