Need Hardware Streaming Solution

Postby muzicman82 » 27 Jul 2009 21:19

Hello,

I'm looking for a piece of hardware that can stream video or HD over a standard network. The idea here is to feed a video input into some sort of box, plug it into a network, and video it in real time on the other side of a building.

There seems to be a lot of these in the CCTV industry, but I'm looking for something that I can fire up VLC on a Windows PC, and view the stream.

One idea I had is to take a SiliconDust HDHomeRun box, (dual ATSC tuner over Ethernet box), and then feed video into some video -> ATSC modulator and then back into the HDHomeRun. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any ATSC modulators/converters yet.

Any ideas would be great!
