minor niggle but I hate it when I can't solve "simple" problems".

I have VLC v1.0 on 2 different PCs,
When I launch player go to tools - preferences. one install defaults to "simple interface settings main screen" but on PC it the other defaults to "advanced settings ". no amount of changing/saving/closing/reopening seems to change this behaviour - was it set at install wizard stage or am I missing a simple tick box somewhere ?

All -> Preferences -> Interface,

Check advanced preferences checkbox

OK thanks - well hidden but I found the relevant tick box.

I thought that VLC would remember the last postion of the simple/all toggle on the main preferences screen but apparently not.

The full answer is go to tools - preferences - all - interface - tick/untick "show advanced options"
