im using sometime short clip as wallpaper in vlc
but nowhere in options i found where to disable popup ballon
when VLC is in systemtray and its annoying sound when baloon popups
(upon playing new clip or reloading the same)

is there any way to disable this ?

Preferences->All->Interfaces->Main Interfaces->Qt
Notify on track change.
