replay problem

note that i use only VLC and MediaPlayerClassic on my system as players

1st problem is present since ... well 2 years i use VLC and since then...
whenever VLC reads from CD or DVD movie it doesnt "read ahead", it reads reads and then
disc stops on second and continue to run, VLC then stops and everything goes to hell
or sound goes on and picture stops or everything pauses for 10 seconds and fast forwards movie
until it synchronises to some point...
Media Player Classic does not have this isssues

is there some option to fix this or does VLC team intend to fix this ?

---

2nd problem is regarding HD reproduction (no matter what video container is used)
the alpha and RC versions of 1.0 reproduced HD content perfectly for me and i thanked
to holy spirits when i saw VLC can finaly do this without any hick-ups (while MPC always did hickup)
but then i installed final version of 1 (uninstalled previous version)
and now it hickups on VLC and doesnt on MPC (media player classic)

i always prefered VLC as main player but for this issues im forced using MPC mostly

apparently it is not codec issue since VLC uses its own, and cant see how could players "kill eachother"
also it isnt hardware if it worked on earlier test builds

so what can it be ?

for additional info:
OS: WinXP SP3
CPU: Intel Celeron D 2.4GHz
RAM: 1GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT (which does reproduce HD content)

There have been some caching and prebuffer changes done to VLC 1.1.x codebase but I don't know if they will help.

VLC doesn't affect to MPC or vice versa. But some other software (like AntiVirus) might.
