the new version of VLC is freaking horrible.

THERE IS NO "LOAD PLAYLIST" FEATURE!!

IF YOU TRY TO ADD FILE/ DIRECTORY / OTHER IT DOES NOT READ THE XPS FILE!

WHAT A GARBAGE PROGRAM

I think the garbage is you. Anyway.

Open file, select playlist files or all files, and OMG, it will list xspf files!

wrong, that used to work til 1.0.0.
when i "Open file, select playlist files or all files" OMG, the playlist loads up as goblety-gook with 00:00:00 listed as the times for all files.. like its taking the destination instead of the files or something.

and i'd think twice about calling your users "garbage", especially when people come to rely on your products and then YOU ruin them and they no longer function.

it doesnt work. drag and drop also no longer works.

thanks for your super reply

If you are on Windows, and read an old xspf playlist, it may not work in vlc1.0.0 (location just changed to fully comply with Microsoft URI format which now looks like file:///D:/path/file.ext).

Drag and Drop works fine for me.

i eventually got playlists to load after going to windows folder options and associating the playlist file type with VLC.
but there's no intuitive way to find a playlist, and VLC seems incapable of finding it's last used playlist without user help.

as there is a save playlist button, it's logical to expect a load playlist button nearby i.e. somewhere on the playlist window.

it's also logical , if you tick save recently played items in preferences -interface, for Vlc to be able to resume where it left off when reloaded.

am I failing to find that option or does it not exist ? ticking "save recently played" has no apparent effect - what gets saved, & where, & for how long ?

Media -> Recent Media

"Media -> Recent Media"

ok thanks - another not-very-intuitive command location. most other windows progams maintain thier recent files list directly under a FILE tab.

anyway- thanks for that -

now what's VLC's definition of "recent" i.e. how long will entries stay on that "recent media" tab & is there limit on the number of entries also ?

moving on: is there a quick way to reload the last saved playlist, or does VLC not know where to find that ?

http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/v ... 52132.html according to that
#define RECENTS_LIST_SIZE 8
so 8 last entries should stay on that list. And AFAIK no time limit.
