Hello,
I just upgraded from vlc 0.8.x to 1.0 and found out: You made it!
You were able to convert a decent, reliable video player in a "Yet another shitty --please stay polite---player".
I took a look at every new or changed function of the player and found not even a single thing which makes it a 'better player'.
The new menu sucks, the GUI sucks. The new candy icons suck as well.

Well, a bit sorry for my harsh tongue, so here's my question:
Is there a chance to downgrade the GUI completely to the decent, reliable one of 0.8.x?
If not, I think Media Classic Home Cinema has finaly earned the "crown of the players".

Unfortunately for you, most people like the new GUI. Unfortunately for you, 1.0.0 has been very well accepted by reviews.

"The new menu sucks" <= In what way? There are almost the same ones as 0.8.6, which proves my point.

"The new candy icons" <= eye candy? VLC? You are kidding. Open WMP or PowerDVD, this is eye candy, 3 icons in grey in VLC is not eye candy.

You don't like the new buttons layout, then you can change it with the customize dialog.
But saying that VLC has eye candy, you are blattantly lying that it isn't even funny.

Especially by candy I meant those shiny buttons of VLC.

An easy and decent menu changed to a trash over-iconed one.

Also I didn't mentioned yet, the Controls in Fullscreen suck too.

Until today I was really an confided user of VLC but the way you are talking to your users shames yourself.

7 icons are "over-iconed one"? You are kidding, right?
Icons in menu are required by most Human Interface Guidelines. And guess what, same as in Firefox, Office, Windows Explorer, IE, WLM and most other Windows program have it.
Moreover, this was one of the things that was most appreciated by reviews.

Controls in Fullscreen are deactivable. Open preferences.

Actually I can count 8 icons on the screenshot and there are loads of more icons everywhere.
Not everyone loves to have Icons everywhere and it's a really bad excuse to say every poor windows program has shiny icons, especially if they don't.
This was one of the biggest differences between other useless video players, e.g. RealPlayer or JetAudio, and usefull players like VlC.

However I will continue using 0.8.6i hoping I will never require functions of newer versions.
