Question

Postby theodore864 » 10 Jul 2009 04:24

Hi All,

I run a student TV station at my school. We do a daily morning show, announcing school news and such. In years previous, we have used a tape playback system to roll the opening and reports. Next year I was hoping to "digitize" this system with the help of VLC.

Here's what I'm hoping to do. The s-video output of the computer would go into the switcher for selection. The Computer would see this as an "external monitor" with fullscreen video playback. I would like the default monitor to show a playlist of what is playing, and up next, as well as with the ability to stop between each segment.

This would allow us to easily add on segments to the show, without having to put them on tape, and be able to be more flexible in how we order our show.
Thanks for any help in advance!

PS- running a windows XP system

Yes, I would like to do it with VLC. I'm sure it is possible, however I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to explain how I would set it up to do the above.

separate GUI from video window. Then drag&drop the video window to another desktop and keep the playlist window on first desktop.
