Hello! I would like to say that watching movies and series like I do would never be possible without VLC, which is in my opinion the best media player ever and rules all the others!

My problem is; I've been using a Unrar-plugin (http://www.shapeshifter.se/code/vlc-unrar/download/) for quite a while now and gotten used to the lazyness of never having to unpack a movie or series. Now with the release of VLC 1.0.0 (CONGRATULATIONS AND HURRAY!), there's a support for this from scratch which I love! But the problem is that I can't get x264 movies and series (compressed with rar) to play. Standard XViD works well, even better than the plugin I've used. But since x264 doesn't work, I'd still like to use the old plugin.

When I try to find where the checkbox located on the older versions at "Input / Codecs -> Acess filters -> [v] UnRAR", I can't find it. I've tried to find: In vlcrc, but without success. I've also tried to add "[access_filter_unrar]" into vlcrc and also without success.

So I'm wondering if someone has found a way to get this plugin to work, or if there is a simple way to play rar:ed movies and series in x264 format with the new integrated plugin?

VLC 1.0.0 supports RAR files multi-volume but uncompressed.

Yeah I know that VLC 1.0.0 support RAR. But I can't play x264 movies and series that's in a rar-archive.

They are uncompressed RAR files?

Maybe a stupid question, but how to use this supported function?
I just managed to uese multi-filed rar-archive via the Open Folder menu and select all rar´s, but this feels realy strange...

Open just the .rar file.

actually it doesn't seem to work with x264/mkv. I tried raring it myself without compression and it doesn't play.

Yes, some do. I don´t have any list on which one though. But if they work, I instead get problems with their built in DVD-menu, it hangs in some kind of loop.

Divx compressed files work, including seek

DVD ISO gets some parts of the image up, with some sort of seek, but no sound, and menu is screwed
x264 doesn't appear to work at all

You have some short sample files you could share to us?

naah, but the result are consistent. Tried 50-100 different samples, should be fairly easy to replicate. All samples are without compression (m0)

When you say x264, what do you mean?

h264 and mkv container mainly
