Hi.

I installed and loved VLC a couple weeks ago and everything was so perfect. Somehow, now I got this error every time I try to run it:

Image

I'm on Vista Home Premium, Quad processor, 4Gb RAM, 2Gb video, etc. There shouldn't be problem.

If I check the details it says this:

Code: Select all

Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: vlc.exe Application Version: 0.9.9.0 Application Timestamp: 49d25eb7 Fault Module Name: libqt4_plugin.dll Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 49d295f8 Exception Code: 40000015 Exception Offset: 0011d96b OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2058 Additional Information 1: fce8 Additional Information 2: 50c45916c733596fdb441d1bc2916fa8 Additional Information 3: ce3e Additional Information 4: 0d8dbbac3dafa6512ff77cd335558590
Please, VLC was so much better than any other media player (and I've tried all the top ones). I really would love it back. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks! :D

This is normal with version 0.9 series so if you can wait a few days you probably can download version 1.0.0 from official site.

Thanks. Actually I was waiting finger-crossed for the next minor version expecting it to fix this. What I find weird is that this happened apparently for no reason. Hope it fixes itself the same way ;)

Well, thank you, Random :)

Have you tried to remove %appdata%\vlc folder?

Hey! thanks, dude. That made it :D

BTW, I moved the folder. After confirmed that VLC could run smoothly I re-moved (overwrote) "vlcrc" and that readjusted all my configurations and preferences back as I had them.

Thanks again :)
