Hi,
How do I save streaming videos that I can play like this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPCugxyF ... 311&kw=sti
I can play it I tried the to use the convert/save option but all I get is a video file that is just a few bytes and no video. What are the exact steps to save streaming video like this? Using latest release candidate.

With Youtube use
http://keepvid.com/ or if you want to use VLC, use demux-dump option (so don't transcode).

Keepvid doesn't work for the movies and shows of youtube. Using vlc gui how to use the demux-dump option?

Demux dump option is broken in VLC 0.9.9 if you use QT4 interface. If you start VLC from command-line you can use following
Code: Select all
vlc http://www.something.com/video.flv :demux=dump :demuxdump-file=downloaded.flv

It didn't work for the above video file. I guess because it uses rtmpe. Does anyone know how to download videos using rtmpe?
