Whenever I play any video file in VLC on Windows 7 (It might be the same in Vista and XP, I can't remember) the video is always very pixelated. The only way I can get the video to show with proper quality is to output as "DirectX video output". This solves all of the video quality issues. Whenever I use this output however, the Windows Aero theme switches to Windows Basic Theme and it is extremely annoying. So does anybody know a way to either fix the video quality of "DirectX 3D video output" or how to prevent switching to Windows Basic theme when using "DirectX video output"?
