Subtitle position

Hello,
I'm kind of new to VLC so I'm trying to understand how it works, I was using GOM before and it was easier in some things like the subtitles thing.
Usually I could watch the movie with the subtitles "under" the movie, not "over" the movie:

The yellow line represents the movie "border", under it, there's the black space, where I want the subtitle (represented by the red box), the yellow box is where I see the subtitles now, and is kind of annoying because shadows part of the movie. I tried the Force subtitles position option but doesn't seem to go "downward" but I can place it anywhere "over" the movie.
My language is not English so I hope you could understand what I'm trying to say here :)
Any help will be appreciated.

it would definately be good if VLC would support subtitles "under the movie".
for the subtitles, the best player under the WIN was BSPlayer, but on TUX I use
rather the VLC, but the subtitles are weak here. I have read that there are
such suggestions in the wish-list. My question is if there is a chance VLC would
support it in the next version.

Not in VLC 1.0.0 which will be released soon.
