Where is the log file

Hello.

I'm testing out VLC and getting to know it to see if it can meet my needs for a project. I tried the streaming from one windows computer to another on the same LAN for starters and I can get the first computer to stream, but the second computer which is supposed to receive the stream says it cannot open the strewam, to check the log file for details. I can't find the log file, and searching help/VLC website, did not pull up any results. So can someone please tell me where to find the log file? Thanks!

Define the place in the preferences.

Usually either %appdata%/vlc or VLC\ program files folder.

Thanks for the reply, JB. I checked both of those spots, plus I did a search for *.log files, and came up with nothing. :(

My version of VLC is the latest 0.9.8a Grishenko. Can you tell me what the log file is named and maybe I can find it from there? Thanks.

I still don't know where the log file is and I would still like to know where the logfile is, but I found that I can at least read the log if I turn on the debug interface.
