I am trying to play a netflix DVD with VLC with subtitles on. The subtitles are gray in color. I tried adjusting subtitle color section in VLC, didn't work. Any help?

DVD subtitles are image based. So VLC can't change the colors of the subtitles. You can use tool called DVDsubedit to do that, but it requires that you rip the movie to hard drive.

Thanks. But only VLC shows the subtitle as Gray. But WIndows Media Player and Mplayer all showing the subtitles. Do I miss anything?

You have screenshot that shows the issue?

I'm having this exact same problem except with ALL DVDs that I try. The subtitles come out nearly unreadable with what appears to be a single gray color.

The DVD is Syrianna. I have tried changing the settings for Subtitles in the VLC preferences, but everything is ignored.

This happens with all DVD movies?

I've got exactly the same happening to all DVDs. Really annoying, can someon help?
