Problems saving stream: gets deleted at end

I've been trying to save some streams using VLC 0.9.8a using Media->Convert/Save->Network, which works as expected in the sense that the stream is saved to disk as it is being played. However, when the stream is done playing, the saved file is replaced by a zero-byte empty file so that all the data is lost. Is anyone aware of this problem, and is there a workaround?

What saving settings you used? You have multiple items in playlist?

It does not appear to matter what my settings are. However, I think I've figured out the problem. The stream comes from an mms://... file that redirects to a different video, but after redirecting, the mms://... file (0:00 in duration) persists in the playlist. It's necessary to delete that file from the playlist to prevent the saved stream from being overwritten.

thanks a lots. Now I know why and how to handle it. May be it will be fixed in next edition
