i've had this problem with a couple seemingly normal .avi files (which windows media player had no problems with) and now with an mp4 file:




i've messed around with the few settings i'm comfortable with and nothing fixes it; and WMP won't play this one.

Have you enabled any filters from VLC?

aw for christ sake... i knew there was something i missed.
