BUG: Issues with full screen on extended desktop

I have a laptop hooked up with an extended desktop (using Nvidia chipset and control panel)

I am dragging the VLC window to the extended desktop, starting the video, and then double-clicking to fullscreen. However, when I do this the VLC window maximizes fullscreen to the primary display (laptop screen) and not my extended desktop (TV)

It worked properly in 0.8.6i

Now if I got to Tools > Preferences > Interface and uncheck "Integrate video in interface" it will work but only temporarily. It will fullscreen appropriately for the initial video being played. If I have a playlist and the first video ends and transitions to the second then it will fullscreen back to the primary display.

I hope this information was useful if I can get you anything else please post back.

Hi i got a "solution" it works for me

What you have to do:

Press CTRL+E (in the vlcplayer screen)
go to the second tab: Video Effects
and then to the tab Vout/Overlap
there you have to select Clone on 2 screens
hit close

Now you have two screens when you play a video, now the only thing you have to do is put the clone on the extended screen (second screen) double click on it and there is your full screen :D
*ps sorry for my bad English

I'm having this same issue with the newest version, I run extended desktop and use my second monitor for watching stuff. When I use full screen it goes to my main monitor, and the cloning thing isn't an option. Worked great with the previous version as said above. I love the program and thanks for any help

Please search before posting. It has been stated multiple times. This will be fixed in 0.9.9 and 1.0.0

Have this too, as I just updated from 0.9.2 to the latest 0.9.8a.

OK found this: viewtopic.php?t=54916
Which tells to re-install 0.9.6 ... :-/

I can confirm that downgrading back to 0.9.6 solves the issue.
I upgraded to 0.9.8a today, but after experiencing this I chose to downgrade back to 0.9.6 which I've been using before.

What is up with this, was the bug ever fixed? I just tried VLC 1.1.5 and the latest 1.1.8 and I'm getting the exact same problem issue! The full screen feature works fine (to the current screen the app is displayed on) for RealPlayer, QuickTime, Media Player Classic, Firefox, Explorer, etc... ever other single app I could find and test _except_ VLC.

If there is a configuration option I missed, please let me now - this should be a default. The only config I've changed is to enable the Qt, Remote Control and HTTP interfaces. Thanks! I'm ready to submit a bug report unless someone can help.

Honestly, I'm not sure, but if my memory does serve me right, it should have been. I strongly believe thought that it was resolved shortly afterwards, I assume with version 1.0.0 or so. Truly, I haven't run into this bug lately, although, I haven't been using extended desktop on windows for a while now. I don't remember having problems with it on GNOME (Linux).
