Playing stream from MPEG4 encoder

Postby DanP » 15 Jan 2009 17:11

I have an encoder configured with an MPEG4 stream. The only way that I can play the stream is by saving the settings from the encoder onto an .sdp file and open that file with the player. Or I can take the .sdp file and stream it using VLC, and play it back with a command like 'vlc rtp://@225.x.x.x:1234'. Shouldn't I be able to use the same command to play the stream directly from the encoder? It doesn't work when I try it.

I'm using a Teleste encoder and I just found out that I can play an MPEG2 stream from the encoder. MPEG4 isn't supported.
