Playing movies full screen on second monitor on VLC 0.9.8a

I normally use VLC player version 0.8.6b and i recently decided to upgrade due to the better scanning on larger high definition video files but ive downloaded version VLC media player 0.9.8a

The setup i use it on is a Dell 24" LCD as the primary monitor and a 32" LCD TV as the second monitor. With the old version of VLC i could easily open any video file drag the video onto the TV and double click to play full screen. With the new version of VLC it always goes and plays full screen on the first monitor when I double click on it, I have read some posts on this topic but none with any solutions beside "wait till the next VLC version is released", any other tips?

I've just upgraded myself and this is indeed pretty annoying. Also in full screen mode the play control thing is centered across both monitors. I hope this regression is fixed soon. Other than that, I quite like the new version of my favorite media player/stream recorder, great work!

I'm having the exact same problem. I just upgraded from 0.8.6 to 0.9.8 on Windows because I was having problems displaying Japanese SRT subtitle files before. 0.9.8 seems nice but when I enable full screen mode it switches to my default monitor. I want to run full screen on my secondary display.. Is there some option we can enable to get this to work???

Or switch to 0.9.6. Personally unchecking "Integrate video in interface" worked for me (after I restarted the video), but I don't like having 2 windows now.

Very funny.
Fixing a very annoying bug for people who had there video not embeded in interface triggered that bug. It is fixed in development versions.
