playlist default directory

Every time I want to open the playlist VLC opens "My documents" directory.
Is it possible to change the default directory?
(or even better, that VLC remembers the last opened directory?)

How can I change the default directory of the playlist files let's say to D:\ ?

If you use Playlist -> Load playlist..., you can't.

Strange, this is such a sophisticated, great software with a lot of features and possibilities but a few simple things are not included in VLC
Default playlist directory.
Last window size
Adapt window size to video size
Auto save playlist
custom equalizer
and ....

open recent media files
save playlist (the one now (ctr-y) = save as)
save playlist when playlist is active (now you have to give the player self the focus in order to use ctrl-y)
auto open last playlist
preview skins (without to restart vlc)
change settings without to restart vlc
