VLC crashing whilst playing .flv files.

Hi,
I'v been having a problem with VLC whilst trying to playback downloaded .flv files. Because I don't watch .flv files very often, I can't be sure when the problem began. I would use the search feature here in the forums but it's not working:

Code: Select all

General Error SQL ERROR [ postgres ] ERROR: invalid reference to FROM-clause entry for table "m0" HINT: There is an entry for table "m0", but it cannot be referenced from this part of the query. [] An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
But anyway, I digress, so I double click the .flv, VLC opens and immediately stops working, then the error message tells me to close VLC. Here some screenshots:

Any help would be great and I am running Vista x64 by the way,
Nick

You have downloaded latest 0.9.6 VLC from official mirrors?

Hi,

I have the same problem.

When I try to open a .flv file with VLC 0.9.6 the vlc.exe crash.

I have downloaded the program from the official site.

I use Vista x64 too, like "nickfromgib".

I have this error from Windows (it's french) :
Signature du problème :
Nom d’événement de problème: APPCRASH
Nom de l’application: vlc.exe
Version de l’application: 0.9.6.99
Horodatage de l'application: 49148d5f
Nom du module par défaut: msvcrt.dll
Version du module par défaut: 7.0.6001.18000
Horodateur du module par défaut: 4791a727
Code de l’exception: c0000005
Décalage de l’exception: 00009b30
Version du système: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3

I'll try to install a previous version (0.9.4) and I'll report the results.

Hi,

I've delete the latest version (0.9.6) and install the 0.9.4 version on my Vista x64.

And the .flv files can now be played, it's work.

So the problem is with the 0.9.6 version.

EDIT = It seems that I had not downloaded the latest version of the site (though it was the 0.9.6, I verified) because I tried to re-download the latest version and it works now, I have the latest version and I can play .flv files. So if you have this problem, download the latest version and re-install it.
