Please don't release different versions labeled with the same version number.

That defies the very purpose of version numbers.

Thanks,
David

No. Versions numbering is source numbering.

That does not change the fact that there are two releases both named vlc-0.9.6-win32.exe, but different.

With the same functionnalities.
A broken build is a broken build.

Different versions come from different source == different functionnalities.

You don't like it, ok.

Alex: "Hey, Joe, do you have the latest VLC ? The last one had broken FLV playback".
Joe: "I have 0.9.6"
Alex: "OK, that one is good."
Joe: "Argh, it does not work."
Alex: "You should install version 0.9.6"
Joe: "But I just did"
Alex: "gusnark..."

But hey, it is your SW. (and you are not the only one pulling this trick)

I am not stupid, I know the issue.

Changing a version number is just a bit more than changing the package numbering.
