Looking for a nice Noise Filter for VLC Player

I used to use the noise filter in FFDshow to give my videos a nice slight film noise effect, but I can't seem to find anything like that in VLC player. Is there some sort of command I need to enter to activate the filter? If someone could give me a step by step explanation of how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

What does this filter do?

It's just a simple noise filter, it's pretty self explanatory. FFDshow, NeroShowtime, and DivX Player all have this simple filter. I'm just sort of confused why such a good player like VLC doesn't have this simple option...

There are grain and noise video filters that should add some noise. (but you can't adjust noise level)
You will get more noise filters at least to Direct 3D output, once I get the shader support coded.
