VLC 0.9.4 no more broken file search?

I'm always attaching VLC to utorrent or Apex for video playback to preview. The last version i used was 0.8.x something, and it played broken files (not completed), and I could fastforward/jump to the points where the parts are downloded.
0.9.4 doesn't do that. Only can start the preview, but cannot jump to position.

Help on this pls.

Same on all video formats or just on some specific ones?

Didn't tried on qt, but avi, mkv, mpeg, wmv does.
When ff or jump to non-broken position (sometimes VLC does by itself) it doesn't give me any sound or video, but timeline is going.

I also noticed on "normal" videos, that when I fastforward or jump to location. picture freezes, audio goes on, and it lasts. Until I pause and unpuase to gain video back again.
As default I'm using DirectX3D because of the Vsync in nVidia CP, even on 2ms monitor...DVB connection........used in 8.x.x and previous versions. Worked just fine.

Tried all of them, OpenGL, default, everything.

Nothing.

There are some rewind and forward issues, specially in some divx/xvid videos.
http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/2093

When you play non completed file, what does Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) say when you do change position in video?

Because it is AVcodec warning, I assume it is same problem than with trac post.

It definetly should be corrected. Therre is another problem, where Avi - Divx/Xvid is fastforwarded, picture freezes for a long time, sound goes on, and after a while, it unfreezes video and continues to play normally, or I can override "the waiting" with pause/unpause.

Everything works on 8.x.x version.

One additional question that has nothing tio do with this problem.

When i play mkv file, subtitles are activated by default. I wish, when I start mkv, that subtitles are deactivated by default, and then when I choose one of them, to be displayed.

I disabled autodetect subtitles, and nothing. I pressume that it has to do with srt or sub files (external).

So how can I do it for mkv?

Please open up a new thread, if you have different question. There are default subtitle track options in Tools -> Preferences... (Show settings: All) and Input/Codecs
