Turn off File Name Display when Playing a File

When I open up a file on VLC, for example TheOffice.avi, for a second the name of the file (TheOffice.avi) flashes at the bottom of the screen then disappears and I was wondering how I go about turning this feature off. It seems like an easy fix but I can't seem to find the answer on my own. Thanks in advance. :D

Deactivate it in the preferences.

I googled this page and was annoyed at the subtitle filename display because it, for instance, overwrites the subtitles of the video. I also couldn't immediately find the option.

Its in preferences obviously but under "Show Settings - all" and then "Video" the main tab, not the OSD subtab and then: "Show media title on video", fairly logical, anyway but... in case someone googles this again, I'm posting the specific place.

I'm glad that you posted this! It still works the same way in 2020!
