Hello

I just installed the new VLC 0.9.4 version, but I have a problem when I try to save a stream with the "Dump row input" option. I get the following Error:

Code: Select all

VLC can't recognize the input's format: The format of 'mms://media.poly.usf.edu/video/EGN-4450_08-26-08_Morris.wmv' cannot be detected. Have a look the log for details.
Here's what was in the log.

:demuxdump-file=G:\?????? ?????\?????? ???????\WebCast1.wmv'
you censored that manually?
EDIT:
And can you paste your sout or commandline options?

Yes replaced the characters with ?'s.
Well what I do is copy the mms from the site where the video is, then I got to Media -> Convert / Save, then the Network tab where I paste the mms in the Address field. Protocol automatically changes to MMS. Then in the Stream Output I select File, and Browse to the directory where I want to save it, and select the Dump row input option, which disables everything else. The general stream output string looks like that:

Code: Select all

:demux=dump :demuxdump-file=g:\directory\webcast.wmv
And then I get the errors above.

Also if i just go to Media -> Open Network, and just paste the MMS it plays fine.

Yes, you are correct. Without Dump raw input and selecting ASF/WMV as Encapsulation seems to work.

Code: Select all

:sout=#duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=asf,dst=C:\tes.asf}}

I've the exact same problem. The previous version worked fine.... I guess I have to roll back for now.
