Hi,

I'm using VLC 0.9.2 version, and I'm playing a DVD Rip movie and separately I've download the subtitle file. The subtitle are displayed however it is not synchronized properly, the dialogs are appearing before the scene comes, how can I fix it.

Thanks in advance,

Sri Hari

If you want permanently adjust subtitle file, use tools like timeadjuster or subtitle workshop.

Or if you just want to adjust offsync during playback, then press h or g during playback.

Hi!

I like VLC Player very much.
But I have one problem which is really bothering me.
Sometimes the subtitles are not synchronised, so I would need to do it manualy.
But somehow the subtitle delay control with keys h or g is not working for me.
I can change the delay in + or - direction as much as I want (and the delay value in miliseconds is
dispalyed on the screen), but it has no influence on the real subtitle delay.
I'm trying it with .srt subtitle file.
What could be the reason?
Is there any special setting needed in the Preference menu?

Thanks for any help.

Best regards,
Bojan

So you cannot control subtitle delay via hotkeys at all?

Does this feature work in previous versions or only for 0.9.x releases?

Yes, I can.
When I press the hotkeys I see the delay time changes on screen (I mean the value).

I can put the subtitles e.g. 30 seconds forward, but there is no change how the subtiltles
are then dispaly on the screen - they are still 30 seconds behind!?

I upgraded VLC already a few time (in hope that in the newer version it will be OK),
but every time it is the same.
As I said, maybe I have something wrong in the configuration (so changing the subtitle
delay has no effect on the subtitles)?

best regards,
B

In what format your subtitles are?

I must apologize.

I checked again and it seems I every time changed the delay in the wrong direction.
Pressing "h" delays the subtitles more, and "g" speeds them up.
Somehow I though in the oposite way.
That "g" delays < (because key is on the left side)
and "h" forwards > the subtitles (key is on right)

So actualy VLC subtitle delaying/forwarding is woking fine, just myself was using it
incorrectly (although I could sware that I tried it in both way :?: )

Sorry and thank you for help.
