How to open each video file in separate window

I've tried many video players. One of the features that i like in VLC is that up to 0.90 i could make VLC open each double-clicked video file (in windows explorer) in separate window.

I think in the preferences in v 0.90 there was a checkbox labeled "open only one instance from files......." . so when i unchek it it opens each video in separate window.

i've read many post and users usually complain about videos opening in new windows and i guess my case is just the opposite.

do i have to downgrade to 0.90? In preferences now there's only the checkbox allow only one instance. even when not checked each double-clicked video opens still in one window and second instance is not automatically created. how can i fix this?

Tools -> Preferences -> All (at the bottom) -> Advanced (first in the list) -> disable the checkbox one instance when started from file.

Why do you guys have to change the place of checkboxes when launching a new version :)

Good luck

After unticking that box, the "Add to VLC media player's Playlist" right-click menu option opens a new session. We're back to square one.
