Hi Guys,
i have a bad problem with my fresh installes 0.92 version from VLC.

When i open different mkv Files i have 3 times another sound.

The 1st is all ok and on my TV the Sound comes over the 6 Speakers
The 2nd is that only the Background Sound i hear over the 6 Speakes (not on every File) sometimes on the Front Speakers
The 3rd i have normally Sound, but only over 3 Speakers.

When i install the latest 0.86i Version, then all Files are playing over the 6 Speakers with no errors.

I hope someone can help me.

greets

Kenny

Could you tell us more about the audio tracks those files have (DTS, AC3 etc.)?

Hi,

The 1st has Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch [Undetermined (Audio 1)]
The 2nd Problem has DTS 48000Hz 6ch [German (Audio 1)]
The 3rd i´m not sure (because i installed the previous Version) but this Audio must have DTS 48000Hz 6ch [German (Audio 1)]

There are 2 Problems with DTS. Once i have only the Background Sound and at another File i have only 3 Speakers. (but Voices i hear there clearly)

Can you try a 0.9.3 nightly build, please. I think we fixed that.

sry for doublepost....

the DTS Problem is fixed. But i checked a DVD with Dolby Digital 5.1 and there is the Problem, when i have a louder sequence, then i don´t hear any Voices from the People. :) Bad Problems. Today i looked this DVD with exact the same sound (but Version 0.8.6) and there are no Problems.

Kenny, thanks for the DTS in mkv problem. We now have the confirmation that this is fixed.

About the DVD, what audio is it ? DTS/AC3? 6channels ?

I've found that sometimes when I watch an .mkv file on my vlc...sometimes the audio goes all weird, and the voices sound like they've been slowed down :? ..I have to change the audio to 5.1 then back to Stereo for it to go back to normal. Audio Information when it first occured is below.

Audio
Format : AC-3
Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
Codec ID : A_AC3
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 640 Kbps
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Rear: L R, LFE
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz

Tools -> Messages with Verbosity 2 gives say anything when those voices vanish?
