VLC 0.9.2's UI disappears during DVD playback when a hard drive spins up. The process is still running, but there is no UI.

Similarly, VLC versions < 0.9.2 had problems, but they tended to just stop DVD playback when a hard drive spun up and showing the at-launch, nothing-playing UI, rather than the UI disappearing completely.

This is on XPProSP2.

Is this a known issue? If not, let me know what hardware information to include.

Which GUI module you use (QT4, skins)?

I don't know. Whatever the default is. This is a fresh install and I haven't adjusted the configuration in any way.

Yes - that's the UI. These are the actions I performed. Log entries are below.

• Starting a DVD
• Starting the movie via the DVD's menu
• Seeking into the middle of the movie
• Then I caused a sleeping hard drive to spin up.
• This time the UI didn't disappear. DVD playback just stopped and it showed the startup nothing-playing UI.

The message exceeded the maximum length, so I removed a bunch of the "blend debug: chroma: YUVP -> I420" entries.

Yes. I don't remember which is master and which is slave. If that's significant, I can check.

My configuration is:

IDE channel 0:

• System HD. Also contains VLC executable.

IDE channel 1:

• Data HD. The drive that I spun up to cause the error.
• DVD drive.
