Deinterlacer Settings not saved permanently

Whenever i activate the deinterlacing Settings to my choice and save them , same moment i close VLC and open a Vob or other interlaced source again
all my saved settings are gone and i have to activate the deinterlacing method again .
In the older Versions i simply saved my settings and with this i had a permanet Deinterlacing Method whenever i watched a interlaced source.
I use Windowes XP and VLC is Version 0.92 .
Ialso tried to install it to a different location which doesnt changes anything .

Deinterlacing shouldn't be needed for DVD material. Mostly for DV stuff only.
So Tools -> Preferences and (select Show settings all) Video -> Filters -> Deinterlace doesn't remember its settings?

Exactly this settings arent saved ..
i also activated "Linear" as my prefered deinterlacing method ..
Once the next video is played or i close vlc and open it up again the settings
Tools -> Preferences and (select Show settings all) Video -> Filters -> Deinterlace
are deactivated again and my choice of Linear Deinterlacing is also set back .

I found something. I opened trac ticket for this.

Something else which is annoying is that the deinterlacing setting is always resetted to default when the video stops playing.
I mean you play a video, you notice that it is interlaced so you apply one of the deinterlacing settings. Perfect, it's now playing fine. But if you stop this video to watch it again from the start without closing VLC, then the deinterlacing setting is back to default and you have to set it again to the desired one which means you can never watch at the beginning of the video with the correct deinterlacing when using the UI.

Yes, but your bug report is mainly related to the preferences.
I would like not to have to set the wanted deinterlacing mode from the video menu each time the video video stops and restarts, especially if I want to review the same video again without loading a new file in the meanwhile.
Example:
Play 'Deinterlaced.mpg'
Video Menu -> Set Deinterlace to BOB
Video is now playing fine but we missed the beginning with the deinterlacing
End of the video, player stops
Click on Play -> video is playing but the deinterlacing setting is back to default, you have to set it again

If that Video -> Deinterlace would permanently adjust that setting, it should work like that. Because when VLC stops, it forgets anything that happened during playtime and when next video start, everything is build again from defaults.
But as md pointed out in trac, you can set the default option via Tools -> Preferences ... (show settings All) Video -> Filters and select Deinterlace from Video output filter module section, not from Video filter module.

Yes but I don't want BOB to be the default one.
However I want the setting to stay like I have set it from the Video menu untill a new file is loaded.
