I had quite some difficulties to use skin on last VLC :
When searching for your .vlt via VLC, select it and enter, VLC replace all slash by anti-slash in the path of the file (so you have C:/Program.... instead of C:\Program...)
if you save and quit, when relauching VLC, it will use default.vlt
If you choose a skin elsewhere than in VLC\Skins, even if you correct slashes before saving prefs, it will use default.vlt anyway.
The only way to make it work is to choose a .vlt in VLC\Skin folder, then replace slashes, then save prefs. this way it will work.

nothing important cause it works but still, it is weird, don't know why, it put a double slash in the path : "...VLC\\Skins"

now you got your favorite skin recognised :
- when launching a video, nothing display until you press play.
- you can't right click in the video window anymore, so, no menus out there.
- can't say if control panel works with skin, didn't try, wait for the fix to try this.

Was trying to edit winamp5 skin so it accepts more than 100% volume but it seems its not the skin fault (at least there is not a such parameter there)
all skins I tested can't go upper than 100% (actually even the skin-tutorial says the volume is limited from between 0 to 100)
so this should be fixed in VLC so that we can get as much volume with skin as with default interface.

btw, plus fixing this volume issue, now there is a control panel in full screen, I'd like to have the whole winamp5 interface (which is separated from the video window) pop up and act like the control panel in full screen, is it technicaly possible for now or should I post a feature request for this ?

Sorry, I think for thoses issues I had to put quite some explanations, maybe i should have split thoses issues in different topics (is that what you mean ?). Anyway, will Try to be more concise next time.

* yes, even if you choose a winamp5.vlt in VLC\Skin, VLC will next run with default.vlt
* hmmm, No, VLC don't play videos automatically Only when skin enabled. you have to press "play" button so the video start playing...

Ok. So, If I fix the / in preferences, it would work ?

I guess it won't be enough to fix the issue... but i might be wrong.

Well, I think I have found the issue and I fixed it.

I corrected the part when using a skin, I made mistakes in both sentences, now it's english and it means something right

and, Let me know if I should put the very last part in feature request or keep it here.

Please report all other ones in the trac. thanks.

Weird, can't see my 3 tickets about skin when clicking "all of your tickets", but i cant see them if I do a search
anyway, they're still true, but I have a new "weird thing", when I click the main interface cross to close VLC, it does close but it does make windows play an error sound too don't know why.

There have been some strange behavior on trac lately. I hope nothing serious comes up.
