vlc 0.9.2 problems vista

I have tried to install this on vista ultimate 32bit and says its installed click on open after install and nothing happens i have also checked in my program files and it seems its not installed it.
can anyone help on this problem or am i installing the wrong version i am trying to install 0.9.2 but getting no where fast can any one help
