I keep getting this message whenever I open vlc 0.9.2

vlc.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point FromLocalDup cound not be located in the dynamic link library libvlc.dll.


Is there something I need to adjust ?

Solution is to completly uninstall VLC and delete the VLC folder. 0.9.3 will fix this issue.

You uninstalled earlier VLC before installing latest one?

Had the same issue. Uninstalled the player, and deleted the "VideoLAN" folder in "C:Program Files". You may need "Unlocker" to delete all the files. I then re-installed VLC 0.9.2. Everything works fine.

0.9.3 will solve this issue even without uninstalling correctly.

I also got this error message but VLC would still work. Once I deleted the emule partfile plugin, I didn't get the error message and everything was fine. Of course, i can't view part files anymore in emule until and if author releases new version compatible with VLC 0.9

You don't need a plugin to preview part files with VLC. Just drag them into VLC. In my case I have a shortcut to VLC in my SendTo folder so I just right click on the part file and SendTo VLC.

We could even do that in the installer of VLC.

For some extensions that someone could list (not me, I don't use any p2p clients) we could add a right click menu to "preview in vlc"

So where do we get 0.9.3? I am having the same problem?

0.9.3 hasn't been released yet, but hopefully it will be very soon.

Fixed in 0.9.4 release.
