0.9.2 - Can I use the Windows OS Open Dialog?

Postby muzicman82 » 18 Sep 2008 08:15

Hello,

I'd like to know if I can setup VLC to use the default Windows interface for the file open dialog box. This is mostly so I can take advantage of Vista's detailed view columns. I see that the new interface has "Date Modified" but not "Date Created". Can I add this? Or can I revert to the OS dialog?

It will be in the bugfix release of 0.9.2 in a few days.

Hi,

As my questions refer to Open Dialog and problems appear with this version too, I think that it isn't needed to open a new topic.

Firstly, is it normal that there is no partition label, only letters? I've 11 partitions and it isn't easy to find the good one without its name.

And secondly, is there a way to open a file in M$ "network" directly in VLC? In the previous version, it was possible in advanced open dialog by browsing "Favorite Network" or typing \\<computer_name>.

Is it planned for the futur or already fixed in the next release?
Thanks in advance. ;)

N.B.: I use Windows XP MCE SP3 and XP Pro SP1.

I too see only partition letters, no labels.

Hello, is the "advanced file open" dialog already fixed in the svn to support lan addresses? This feature is critical for me, since i only watch videos from my local network

There isn't SVN anymore. It is git nowadays.

and 0.9.3 has the native Windows file dialog, so you can try them.

Advanced open is not yet fixed. But normal one is.
To load subtitles, just d&d to the video.
