VLC window won't remember position

Very simple question that I haven't seen asked before, but can the new VLC 0.9.2 remember a position and open in that position? So far it always opens in the middle of my screen, which isn't very useful for multi-window viewing, 0.8.6i always opened where I last closed it (the default windows behavior).
I'm on Windows XP Pro (SP2), if it matters.

By defaut, if quit correctly, it does save geometry.
Look at %appdata%/vlc-qt.conf, where it should be saved.

Could you define "properly"? I'm using the big red x, that worked for 0.8.6i.
Also, I'm assuming you mean Documents and Settings/Application Data/vlc/[that file]. If so, it's not there.

Expect 0.9.3 for this week end or early next week.
