0.9.2: Full-screen video controls pop up every 3 seconds

I installed this tonight after uninstalling the old version (including deleting settings and cache) and have found that when playing videos (e.g. AVI) full-screen in Vista that the new video controls keep popping up on the bottom of the screen every 3 seconds (disappearing in 1 second) -- as if I was moving the mouse every 3 seconds, which I'm not. Any ideas? If there's a previous thread on this, I was unable to find it.

How do I disable that menu? It's pretty annoying when watching a video in full screen...

turning off "integrate video in interface" in preferences, solve the bug but vlc shows ugly

Yeah, that disables it popping up all the time but it is indeed very ugly and not very nice to use. When after leaving full-screen mode this eaves to a screen-sized video window and doesn't go back to the original video window size...
I'd love is someone knows a better way to disable this control popping up all the time. This is a major annoyance. I can't believe there aren't more people writing about this? Are we the only ones with this bug?

Does anyone not see the problem? I ask, because I expect it can't be happening for everyone, otherwise it never would have escaped beta testing. It's just too obvious.

no, in Interface Tab this is the option just below this one you have to disable (should be something like "display control pop up in fullscreen mode", then vlc isn't ugly.

I am also having this problem.
Any suggestions how I can get the controls to stop popping up every couple of seconds in full screen mode?

Same problem here in Windows Vista SP1 and XP SP3. Terrible bug in my opinion
I disabled the controls in full screen as said by previous members.

Go to preferences for the qt interface and shut off the function.

Thanks DJ!
So under "interface" -> main interfaces -> Qt -> and then through disabling the control in full-screen mode option did the trick
(+ restart).
(sorry, if the names aren't exact matches, I'm using VLC in German and tried to follow the path through translations)
I was already thinking about going back to an older VLC version, now I don't have to

The same problem happens to me (every 7 seconds) on a 12.1" wide-screen lapton running Windows XP... but I installed VLC media player on a friend's PC, also running Windows XP. He has an standard 17" TFT screen (non-wide), and the controls only pop up when he moves the mouse (with default settings)... Just wondering if the bug has something to do with the way VLC manages screens...

I have the problem too. The video controls popup all the time in fullscreen, not sure how many seconds, it looks random, at first I was thinking my mouse could has some dust in the optical, but I see now is some type of weird bug.
Vista SP1 32bit, nVidia 177.92 drivers.
Maybe this is related to a application we all use? I use sidebar, tested with it closed and bug still happens, I use ESET NOD32, Dumeter, I don't think any other software I use could conflicts with VLC, that three I mentioned has constant updates on screen and/or are monitoring all the time.

Same problem. Very annoying. Still not fixed in 0.9.4 (Windows version; on XP).
I need to disable the controls completely.

It is fixed.
Controller will not show if you don't move at least 3px your mouse.
1/ Misuninstalled VLC and misinstalled it.
2/ Your configuration is broken

Thank you, your posting was helpful - rechecked my installation.
My problem was
3 / accidently downloaded older version from main website , but believed it was 0.94.
Did not know where to post, but you're right: Double postings are terrible.

In 0.9.4 I can't get the full-screen controls to pop up at all. So I guess this bug was fixed.

You mean even when you move the mouse?
