Hello,

I usually used the libvlc.dll in my application.
But since the version 0.9, i have an error when i'm trying to load the libvlc.dll library..: "can't find libvlccore.dll"... even when this file is present ........ I call this dll via delphi..

VOB (DVD) files still freeze

Hi,

VOB file playing still freeze in this 0.9.2 pre-release when changing play position via time trackbar.

This should be fixed through ticket #1880, but is not. (http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/1880)
I've tested it with the VOB file, which is attached to this ticket.

Regards,
Mikey

PS: Great project!

I have the hvr 1800 which does not have a line out, so how do I tell this version to stream the audio coming into the hvr 1800? My sound card is the only thing that shows up as the audio source. I tried play the hvr 1800 all I get is video. How do I get audio?

Hi,

There is one crash if you open preference window, close it using the window close button (not cancel) and reopen it.

Stef

Hi,

are the sources for these test builds available? If yes, where? If they are on the nightly builds ftp, just point me to the right one.

thanks!

I've done some testing for two days and found some annoyances (bugs?):

1/ There is no full screen option when you right click on the video. This is quite strange because there is an option to quit the full screen mode when you are in full screen. I know you can double click on the video or use the button of the interface but I believe the option is missing in the menu.

2/ When I'm watching at a video and I open the preferences (I'm using the advanced mode) the video window is randomly taking over the preferences window putting the preferences window at the background. My VLC is not set to be always on top.

3/ Talking about the preferences, in Input / Codecs -> Video Codecs I have twice the X264 item.

4/ DTS in WAV doesn't work. For instance this file:
ftp://streams.videolan.org/streams-vide ... 20only.wav
doesn't play with this build.
It's playing fine with v0.8.6 though and also in MPlayer.

5/ VLC always crashes when using a SRT subtitles file. It's working fine with IDX/SUB though. I haven't changed any setting for the subtitles so I'm using the default settings. The same files are working fine with older VLC builds though.

6/ And the most annoying: the size of the VLC window is always 690*539 with a video size of 682*406. Only if I'm watching at a video at 100% zoom with a smaller size than that then I got a smaler window. But if I want to use 200% zoom I can't get the video to be over 682*406. Any video stream format, any container.
Examples: original video is 448*288, at 100% it's correct but using 200% is making it 682*406.
Another video is 1920*1080 and it's also resized to 682*406 max.

1/ Wrong. Video=>fullscreen

2/ Ticket 2001

3/ Only on your broken? build, works for me.

4/ Open a ticket.

5/ Duh, can you open a ticket?

6/ I am working on it.

Audio on any .wmv file is distorted (gargling). Play something with music to highlight properly.

I tried this one (but also others) and it sounds bad here. Same file(s) are ok on VLC 0.8.6 or Windows Media Player 11.

1/ I mean it would be better to have this item in the main context menu like in older builds and other apps, and like the Leave Fullscreen item is.
Easier, faster, which is what we want for this feature.

4/ Good to know it's fixed :)
However APE files don't play, I have posted more details about that here:
viewtopic.php?p=159588#p159588

5/ Done:
https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/2007
EDIT: I've found a workaround: if I disable the 'Show Media Title on Video' option then it's working fine
But if I stop the video and play it again from the start then VLC crashes when the first subtitle is expected to be displayed.

Yep, same for me with this file.

However it seems that the sound has been badly recorded with way too much high level and many peaks creating distortion. But it's true that VLC 0.9.2 (using the built-in codec) is producing a lot of crackles when playing this file, much more and audible ones than any other app / decoder I've tried (although MPlayer is having the same issue as VLC).

There are some graphical glitches in the Open Disc interface:

Image

This is the french interface but I got the same behaviour with the english language.
And when this advanced menu has been displayed then VLC always crashes on exit.

Hm, I don't have this problem (with neither of the few past months 0.9.x versions).

OK, so far, blocking issues:

- resizing with Big videos
- Capture cards name ? Can't test this so far
- SRT segfaulting? Does it always happen ?

Hi,

Another bug with test version:
audio decoding for format wma2 (sample rate 44100Hz, bits per sample 16, bitrate 64kb/s) is broken in 0.9.2 test. It works fine in 8.6i. The sound is distorted with some artefatcs.
If you need a sample tell me I can upload one.

Stephane

I'm still unable to open _any_ DVD using 'dvdsimple' (without DVD menus). http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/1782 I'm testing branch-20080907-0204 under Win Vista HP SP1.
