vlc won't output audio that the hvr 1800 receives. vlc won't let me select the hvr 1800 as the audio source.

VLC doesn't allow you to select it or it doesn't show it at all? If it doesn't show it at all, then it is a known issue.

vlc only lets me select hvr 1800 for video. only my sound card can be selected for the audio source. the hvr 1800 is the audio source, it does not have a line out for a sound card like the older hauuapuge cards do.

Then it is not supported ATM.

update: nevermind I finally got my legacy wintv radio to work. that is the card I nromally use for tv streaming.
