(When you need the text file marked in that screenshot just ask and i will post the content of it)

The last version that i could run was from the directory "trunk-20080824-0930/" Version "vlc-0.9.0-win32.exe". Also i want to tell you that the following two directory: "trunk-20080825-0005/", "trunk-20080825-0904/",

As you can see i am using Windows XP Home, if you need any further information to help me solve that problem just ask.
Hope you can help me fix that problem, i really want to test the latest versions.

You can delete VLC's settings by going to:
C:\Document and Settings\(Your username)\Application Data

And delete the "vlc" folder.

You can delete them from %APPDATA%\vlc folder

But that didn't help, I can't get any 1.0.0 version to run. I was running fine earlier on 0.9.0 build (forgot the exact one, but it was early august build i think)

I'll have to try out all 0.9.0 builds on monday to see which one i can run right now (on XP SP3) if i still can't get latest nightly to run. I could also include mini-dump if that would help. Let me know if including heap will be good ? (zipped heap mini dump is around 8mb)

I dont even have a vlc-folder in that path you gave me.

I have just checked the site, of the nightlybuilds and noticed that 2 new folders have been added. First one is empty but in the second one was a "new" exe to download "vlc-0.9.1-win32.exe".

Now i am wondering why is this version older? (now its 0.9.1 the same date different forlder its 1.0.0) And what version will i see tomorow? (Maybe a surprice and its 0.9.2?)

And this version didnt crash, so thx to the programers if they did it as a responed to my thread.

Which path did you check? If you've run VLC in the past, you should have a 'vlc' folder somewhere in your Applications Data folder (it could be buried on another folder level, though.) Try this: Start > Run > enter '%appdata% ' (without the quotes) in the Run window, and press Enter. In the Explorer window that pops up, is there a 'vlc' sub-folder?

Just to be safe, you might also want to completely uninstall the previous version of VLC before installing a nightly build, or install them to a separate folder.

Just to make one thing clear (this time) i have already installed several nightlybuilds and they all worked fine.

I think the vlc-folder didnt exist because it gets created after you have run vlc the first time and because the versions i have the crash never runed even once it never got to the part where its supposed to create that folder.

So now that i have installed the "new" verison vlc-0.9.1-win32.exe of the folder "branch-20080829-1915/" from the site http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win32/?C=M;O=D and runed it succesfully the folder exists again.

I only had problems starting vlc with the version of the following folders:
trunk-20080829-0005/ 29-Aug-2008 00:31 -
trunk-20080828-0037/ 28-Aug-2008 01:16 -
trunk-20080828-0005/ 28-Aug-2008 00:34 -
trunk-20080827-0005/ 27-Aug-2008 00:30 -
trunk-20080826-0005/ 26-Aug-2008 00:39 -
In those folders there are only 1.0.0 versions. I thought the programers are working on 0.9.1 right now or already at 1.0.0?
Because the recent olders consist now 0.9.1 versions i am bit confused....
They started with 0.9.0 than for 5 days it was the version 1.0.0 and now back to 0.9.1????? :?: :?: :?: So what version are you working now, 0.9.0 or 0.9.1 or already 1.0.0????

Most folders under appdata are normally hidden, you have to enable viewing from Windows Explorer before you can remove them.

To answer your question which version they are working on currently I'd say it would be 0.9.1, and none of the 1.0.0 builds work properly after 8/27/08.
