What happened to 0.9? Seems like that would be released before 0.9.1 but I don't see it on the front page.

VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe' cannot be detected. Have a look the log for details.
https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/1920
since its already tagged 0.9.1... there's still some inconsistencies ..

With too much bugs discovered after tagging twice, I think binary release should be delayed at this state.

Well, yes...

New builds fix the vlc.exe added to command line (#1920)

The procedure entry point is because you have old dlls ( like wx.dll) in it, so you need to clean your VLC folder AND your cache.

what a waste on a version number loool. anyway I personally thinks that the more delay to tagging or release is better because, then the end users can get a more stable, and quality piece of free software. which is exactly the why version 0.9 took this long to achieve and yet 0.9.0 is skipped not much fun then. Spend 2 years developing and skipped it finally :D :D

Why is it that every Play Pause action makes the seek slider jump back and forth position and start of clip ??? :?:

Hi.

Does this version supports post-processing, which was disabled in 0.9?

Regards.

AFAIK 0.9.0 is mostly same as 0.9.1 (just retagged with few bug fixes).

So will there be no official 0.9.0 release now that a new 0.9.1 tag has been created? Couldn't, for example, the current 0.9.0 tag be renamed to 0.9.0-old and 0.9.1 to 0.9.0 to keep the version numbers consistant? Shouldn't matter in the long run :P, however there will undoubtably be numerous people asking "what happened to 0.9.0?".

Cheers, Arite.

There will be NO 0.9.0. If people speak about it, we won't care ;).

There will be only 0.9.1 builds for windows, or maybe only 0.9.2 because we found many important bugs.
So far we still have two blockers: DVD no menu on Windows crashes, and x264 streaming crashes.

We have many other bugs, but those are not blockers.

OK thanks - just thought I'd clarify.

So far we still have two blockers: DVD no menu on Windows crashes [...]
If, during playing a DVD with menu (didn't checked those without) the slider is moved to a random position or the next chapter button is clicked, the video image freezes (but the DVD continues to play). Not always, but 80%.
In order to be able to play again I have to stop, then play again (no need to restart the application).

Checked on two computers, Windows XP SP3 on both ...

Ok, waiting for a new build to test :) ('cause I cannot build it for myslef, unfortunately)

Do you know the status of the inclusion of the small Qt translations ? I mean these ones with the addition of this one. Or should I ring a bell to Xtophe ?

Thanks for the spotting of that. No idea it existed. Fixed for 0.9.2

I'm working on vlc-1.0.0-git-20080829-0005 today (last nightly found). I'm under Windows Vista.

Since the nightly from 25th August, every VLC nightly I tried crashed. I would like to give you more details to help you but the --logfile=<string> option is useless : VLC doesn't have time to create the file, it already crashed. Same story with -vvvvv option, it doesn't say anything. What could I do to make a diagnosis to help you guys?
