Hi.

I downloaded the current nightly build (18.08), and followed the manual at: http://wiki.videolan.org/Win32CompileCygwinNew, but unable to finish the compilation.

The libtool complains that it can't find the library src/libvlccore.la, or unhandled argument src/libvlccore.la - but the la file is clearly there.

How this can be solved and get VLC compiled?

You tried to compile git clone?

No, I used the latest snapshot (18.08).

I managed to solve it by removing parts of plugins.
