MJPG files on vlc - colour is not proper

Hi,

I am trying to playback an avi file in vlc.
The video is MJPG encoded, which I shot on my digital camera.
The file plays back fine except that the colour is not proper.
Its not appearing in the orginal colour, it appears to have a blue tinge.
The file has no issue and playsback in other movie players, with the proper colour.
Let me know if you need this file to test, I can upload this to your ftp server.

My mail ID: ebin.jose@gmail.com

Platform:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel Pentium M, 1.6 GHz

Sample rate: 11024KHz
Bits per sample: 8
Bitrate: 88Kb/sec

1) This issue is visible in older versions too, I was using 0.8.6c.
2) All the files that I shot using this camera, have the same issue.

Thanks in adavnce.

Hi,

As mentioned in the videolan site
web page: http://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_report
Link/Section: FTP samples server

This link takes me to "ftp://streams.videolan.org/incoming/"
I have copied a sample avi file, and txt file containing the mail conversation.
Name of the files
"WhaleWatch 047.avi" and
"WhaleWatch 047.txt"

{sorry I thought of first copying the file, and renaming (to a meaningful name), but realized later that anonymous users can't rename !}

Another update is, I was playing around with different vlc installations as you mentioned, But after uninstalling the nightly build, I tried installing the stable latest version back which is 0.8.6i
While playingback, I could see lot of errors being thrown, like some libs missing etc. So I manually deleted the "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN" dir and installed 0.8.6i again, after which VLC started working fine.
And now even the MJPG files work fine too !! No issues with colour !

But my earlier observations were correct. So If you feel you can take a loot at this, to understand if this is a real issue or not.

Thanks.
